Perhaps it’s because “you get out of facebook what you put into facebook” and I haven’t been spending much time on facebook in recent months, my stream has been reduced to people I know sharing (“so funny! I’m stealing this one!” is a common comment) what they think are funny pictures and anecdotes nicely packaged in image files.
Most of these pictures are completely useless and an utter waste of time – but I liked this explanation of social media and how it has been reduced to absolute drivel, and that it is being shared far and wide without any hint of irony.
PS – Oh, and I am reminded of the old (and more funny) Shit Happens joke comparing world religions that made the rounds years ago and has been added to through the ages.
